Gone Fishing For Peace Of Mind

During times of economic difficulty many people choose simpler pleasures that have the capacity to refresh our spirit and renew hope. Across the country movies are sold out, bars and restaurants are doing great business and more than ever we are getting back to the core values and activities that make us who we are as a culture.

Stress relief usually begins with a distraction. Relieving stress is a very personal task. One must allow herself to be distracted occasionally for two reasons: the first reason follows the fact that stepping away from a project or train of thought inevitably affords a new view of the problem and “outside the box” type solutions. The second reason is that intense mental level focus has the effect of blocking the signs and symptoms of overwork. Taking a break with a fun distraction allows the brain to again see the whole picture and take stock of levels of energy, pain, joy or sorrow.

If for a few minutes one is distracted from intense mental focus the body too makes allowances for energy to flow where it has been blocked. Working without respite disallows well being to flow to all areas of our mind, body and soul.

A distraction then can be a profound way of allowing wellbeing. If you are a quick study you may realize that it is due to over-thinking and a self-imposed need to push and exploit for the purpose of achieving deadlines and goals that disconnects us from the flow of wellbeing that abounds. A distraction is like a sunny day. Don’t be afraid to step outside and into the beautiful day now and again to allow the rays to warm and invigorate you.

You have the power to connect with wellbeing and stress relief anytime. A simple pleasurable distraction is a great way to relax and reduce stress. Allow wellbeing to flow to all the centers of energy and health within you not by focusing on doing so…but by just giving up, giving in to and allowing the flow that is already there for you.

Love long and prosper!
